The Hong Kong Singers are proud to present Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, which will run at the Hong Kong City Hall Theatre in Central from October 18th – 22nd 2008.
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is a story about Belle, a young woman who escapes from her ordinary life by reading books. Meanwhile, off in a castle, a prince is cast under the spell of an enchantress who turns him into a tormented beast. In order to remove the curse, the Beast must discover a true love who will return his affection. When Belle's inventor father stumbles upon the Beast's castle and is taken prisoner, Belle comes to the rescue and agrees to take her father's place. With the help of the castle's enchanted staff, she sees beneath the Beast's exterior and discovers the heart and soul of a human prince. Based on the 1991 film of the same name, with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is an all-time favourite with its songs, Belle, Be Our Guest, Home, Something There and of course, the title song, Beauty and the Beast.
